About the project
Brick by Chance and Fortune traces the clay and brick industry that shaped St. Louis. The documentary looks at the people, materials, and buildings behind the city's distinctive brick architecture.
It also examines efforts to preserve that architecture and the threats it faces, including brick theft and urban renewal. Bill Streeter directed, wrote, produced, shot, and edited the film.
It was broadcast on Nine PBS on August 20, 2015.
